Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters in Latest Trailer

With just a few weeks to go until Monster Hunter Wilds launches on February 28, Capcom has revealed Iceshard Cliffs, a new snow-covered biome packed with deadly creatures. A brand-new Leviathan, Hirabami, made its debut in the latest trailer, showcasing its sail-like membranes that allow it to glide through the air before striking with razor-sharp tail attacks.

The trailer also confirmed the return of two fan-favorite monsters: Nerscylla, the terrifying spider-like predator, and the elusive Gore Magala, bringing back its frenzied, shadowy presence.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test 2 Incoming

Capcom also announced a second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds, running from:

  • February 6 at 7:00 PM PST to February 9 at 6:59 PM PST
  • February 13 at 7:00 PM PST to February 16 at 6:59 PM PST

This beta introduces even more content, including:

  • A chance to battle Arkveld, the flagship “White Wraith” monster
  • The return of Gypceros
  • A Base Camp Training Area
  • New online features, including Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode

The character creation system and cross-platform multiplayer return from the first beta, but Capcom clarified that recent performance and balance adjustments won’t be in this build, as they’re being finalized for launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds Pre-Orders and PC Benchmark Tool

Pre-orders for Monster Hunter Wilds are now live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Capcom also confirmed that PS5 Pro enhancements, including ray tracing and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), will be available at launch for an even more immersive experience.

PC players can now download the Monster Hunter Wilds Benchmark tool to test their system’s performance before release.

Starting one week after launch, limited-time event quests will roll out, offering special armor rewards, with more post-launch updates planned.
