Flyway Games, a Krafton studio, has launched a free demo for its upcoming roguelike action game, Ascend to Zero, now available on Steam. Built around the ability to stop time, this fast-paced adventure challenges players to travel to the past, battle alien invaders, and prevent global destruction—all within a limited time frame.
Time is Your Greatest Weapon
Set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by an alien invasion, Ascend to Zero tasks players with journeying back in time through a dimensional portal to save lost comrades and alter fate.
Combat is designed around strategic time manipulation, where players must freeze time, dash through enemy attacks, and utilize powerful skills to clear missions before their time runs out. Weapons attack automatically once equipped, but players can aim their shots manually for precision strikes. If health reaches zero, players can sacrifice remaining time to revive, adding a high-risk, high-reward element to each run.
When the time limit expires, players return to a ruined underground bunker, resetting their level and some gear while keeping key upgrades and rescued allies.
Progression and Customization
- Upgrade and Enhance: Earn in-game currency to purchase weapons, armor, and gadgets at the shop.
- Rescue Allies: Save comrades from the past to unlock new features in the bunker.
- Defeat Bosses: Special enemies grant passive abilities for long-term progression.
Flyway Games aims to refine Ascend to Zero based on player feedback, using the demo to fine-tune mechanics and balance. The game is currently in development and supports English, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
