Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots Announced – New Developer, Same Classic Gameplay

In a strange twist, a new Everybody’s Golf game, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots, was announced at today’s Nintendo Direct. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s arcade golf experience leapt to other platforms, but not in the way you’re expecting. The trailer closes with key art for the new title, followed by the Bandai Namco logo bumper. Despite being a PlayStation staple series, Everybody’s Golf is now third-party, heading to multiple platforms with a new developer and publisher.

Originally known as Hot Shots Golf in North America, the series has had a ton of entries since Camelot originally released the title in 1997. Since then, it’s been in the hands of Japan Studio but, well, we all know what happened to them. Fans of the series will be happy to know that Everybody’s Golf has found a new home with Bandai Namco. Developed by the studio HYDE, a developer that has touched a lot of projects but is credited in a few, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots is looking to bring what they refer to as the world’s most popular golf game into the new decade with this new title. Boasting improved graphics, new gameplay modes, and new customization options, Bandai Namco and HYDE are looking to release later this year with no official date yet.

Promising to maintain the classic gameplay that everyone loves, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots wants to add, not subtract, to make this new entry into the series.

Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots Key Features

  • The Classic Gameplay You Love – The controls are as simple and intuitive as ever. Just aim and press the button 3 times at the right moment to master the perfect shot!
  • Play Solo or With Friends!
  • Climb the ranks in Challenge Mode by completing rounds and facing off against colorful characters.
  • Sharpen your skills and focus on beating your personal bests in Solo Rounds.
  • Enjoy local Multiplayer Mode with up to 4 players on a single controller, or compete online against golfers worldwide.
  • For even more excitement, try Wacky Golf – a unique twist on golf that everybody can enjoy together.

Bandai Namco is being pretty tight-lipped about the details, especially in regards to ‘Wacky Golf.’ Wacky Golf is pitched as “a unique twist on golf that everybody can enjoy together.” While it’s shown in the trailer, we get to see a wheel spin presumably to pick a wacky mode, a Tornado Cup that looks like a whirlwind on the hole, and a ‘Fallen Monolith – A mysterious monolith falls before you!’ AND DOES WHAT?! While I’m incredibly curious as to what Wacky Golf entails, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots looks like a fairly normal new entry into the series. However, whether or not HYDE can capture the magic that Studio Japan did for so many years will remain a mystery until we get our hands on it.

Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots is coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch later in 2025. Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots is currently available for wishlist on Steam and PlayStation.
