Detective Dotson Launches April 24 with Trailer and Steam Prequel Movie

Masala Game, an indie developer based in India, has dropped the launch trailer for Detective Dotson, a cozy detective game set in a stylized version of modern-day India. The game will officially release on April 24, 2025, on Steam, alongside a prequel film that sets the stage for the game’s central mystery.

Detective Dotson puts players in the shoes (and disguises) of Dotson, a reluctant detective navigating a vibrant world that blends colorful 2D art with 3D environments. As players explore their surroundings and talk to eccentric locals, they’ll piece together clues to uncover the truth behind one burning question: What happened to Dotson’s father?
