Top Hat Studios and solo developer Jacob R. Hudepohl have announced that Labyrinth of the Demon King, the survival horror dungeon crawler inspired by feudal Japan and Buddhist folklore, will launch globally on May 13 at 11 am EST. The game will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and the Xbox family of consoles.
Revealed in a new trailer during Top Hat Studios’ April 22 showcase, the release date reveal also marks the game’s official console debut. Originally teased during Halloween 2024 and later praised during its Steam Next Fest demo, Labyrinth of the Demon King blends classic survival horror tension with hardcore dungeon crawling and brutal combat mechanics.
A Grim Descent into Myth and Madness
Set in a nightmarish world drawn from Japanese folklore and Buddhist myth, Labyrinth of the Demon King is a harrowing journey through cursed corridors, cursed foes, and the slow, satisfying rhythm of deadly precision-based combat. Players will fight back with katanas, naginatas, bows, and muskets—if they survive long enough to find them.
Featuring a retro PS1-style low-poly aesthetic complete with dithering effects and grim, lo-fi horror atmosphere, the game tasks players with scouring labyrinthine passageways for gear, clues, and answers—all while deciding who among the wandering survivors they can actually trust.
Multiple Languages, Global Launch
Labyrinth of the Demon King will launch with full localization in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic.
