Warhammer 40K: Darktide Arbites Class Arrives June 23, Free Vermintide 2 Campaign Finale Out Now

Fatshark is celebrating Warhammer Skulls 2025 with big updates across both of its grimdark co-op hits. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is getting its first paid class DLC with the Adeptus Arbites, while Vermintide 2 delivers the final chapter of its free Verminous Dreams campaign, The Well of Dreams. Whether you’re in the far future or the End Times, it’s a good week to purge some heretics.

The Emperor’s Law: Arbites Class DLC Coming to Darktide

Launching June 23 for $11.99, Darktide’s new Arbites Class lets players embody an enforcer of Imperial justice, complete with grim cyber-mastiff companion, riot shield, and plenty of righteous fury.

Arbites Highlights:

  • Cyber-Mastiff: Deploy your cybernetic hound to maul priority targets and lock down foes.
  • New Weapons: From special-issue shotguns to the Dominator Maul, expect righteous brutality.
  • Three Combat Styles: Customize your Arbitrator across 80+ talent nodes and distinct class paths.
  • Commanding Abilities: Control crowds, deploy the Nuncio Aquila to blare imperial propaganda mid-fight, and exact punishment with military-grade precision.

Free Narrative Update & Difficulty Rework

Dropping alongside the DLC is a free update that enhances Darktide’s narrative flow and progression systems:

  • New Onboarding: A curated mission path walks new players through Tertium’s threats and story beats.
  • Narrative Debriefs: Missions now offer more context and cutscene-style updates.
  • Difficulty Progression: Unlock higher tiers by mastering missions, not just grinding XP.
  • Mission Board Changes: Every difficulty now includes all missions, giving players broader tactical choice.

Celebrate Skulls 2025 with Chaos and Cosmetics

Both Darktide and Vermintide 2 are getting in-game events for Skulls:

  • Darktide: Face Chaos Spawns from corrupted Nurgle totems and enjoy event-themed visuals across the Mourningstar.
  • Cosmetic Restock: Fan-favorite skins return, including the Steel Legion, Death Korps of Krieg, Elysian Drop Troopers, and Magistratum Enforcers.

Vermintide 2 Concludes Its Dream — The Final Chapter Now Live

The Well of Dreams, the last mission in Vermintide 2’s free Verminous Dreams saga, is available today on all platforms. Players must dive into Skaven tunnels under Athel Lithri to stop a warp bomb from tearing reality apart. No pressure, right?

The update also introduces:

  • New Skulls Event: Earn seasonal cosmetics and weapon illusions.
  • QoL Updates: Hero parade screens, temporary health talent reworks, Chaos Wastes shrine changes, and Versus mode tuning.

And in case you missed it, Vermintide 2 is now available via Xbox Game Pass, making this the perfect time to get hacked, slashed, and rat-bashed.

Purge or Perish

Whether you’re howling orders in Tertium or swinging greatswords in Ubersreik, Fatshark’s latest updates give fans new reasons to return to the war-torn worlds of Warhammer. And with Darktide’s Arbites Class bringing cyber-dogs and riot shields into the mix, the only thing left is to ask: how will you enforce judgment?

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 are available now on PC and Xbox platforms.
