Nitro Express Blasts Onto Steam With Guns, Gadgets, and a Launch Discount

Grayfax Software and PLAYISM have officially released Nitro Express, a stylish 2D side-scrolling gun action game featuring an all-girl squad of heavily armed law enforcers, on Steam today. The game is celebrating its release with a 10% launch discount, available for the next two weeks.

Set in the familiar-but-offbeat metropolis of Nitro City, a reimagined version of Tokyo’s neon-glazed streets, Nitro Express puts players in the combat boots of the Atypical Vehicle Disposal Squad (AVDS)—a special police unit with a single mission: annihilate rogue autonomous drones and vehicles with as much firepower as possible.

Shoot First, Ask Never

At its core, Nitro Express is all about unrelenting gunplay. Players can unleash a hailstorm of bullets with everything from SMGs to sniper rifles, and blow away tougher targets like tanks and helicopters with gadgets like EMPs, missile launchers, and auto-turrets. Guns have distinct behaviors depending on whether you’re moving, crouching, or standing still—so choosing the right weapon for the job (and the right stance) is key.

Key Features:

  • Fast-Paced 2D Gun Action – Load up on firepower and shred through hostile drones and vehicles with no reload restrictions and a ton of satisfying cooldown-based mayhem.
  • Tactical Weapon Handling – Positioning matters! Stay still to maximize damage output from bigger guns, or go wild with close-range SMGs.
  • Gadgets Galore – From flamethrowers to RC drones, pick your favorite from 12 distinct gadgets to change your combat strategy.
  • Radio Drama-Style Storytelling – Optional in-stage radio communications deliver a quirky narrative about AVDS operations, but players can ignore it entirely for a more arcade-style experience.
  • Stylized Tokyo Setting – Fight through a beautifully pixelated urban dystopia that blends nostalgic Tokyo scenery with futuristic oddities.

If you prefer skipping the story and jumping straight into the action, you’re covered—Nitro Express lets you ignore its radio comms system entirely, making it just as replayable as it is chaotic.

Whether you’re a run-and-gun purist or just here for the cool girls and big guns, Nitro Express has something for every fan of stylized 2D mayhem. The game is out now on Steam with a launch discount that runs through June 2, 2025.
