Alawar Entertainment has announced The Last Gas Station, a story-driven management sim that mixes cozy business-building with eerie mystery. Coming soon to PC via Steam, the game places players in charge of the last outpost for gasoline in a pixelated world that’s already moved on to electric vehicles. But beneath the rust and restocking lies something much stranger—and maybe even dangerous.
Inheriting the long-abandoned gas station from a previous owner who mysteriously disappeared, you’ll clean, expand, and modernize the space to serve what few combustion engine drivers still pass through. That means upgrading fuel pumps, managing a roadside store, and designing your neon signage. But most importantly: never go outside at night.
Manage by Day, Survive by Night
Described as a “bite-sized, story-driven sim,” The Last Gas Station offers a mix of charming gameplay and creeping tension. You’ll set up shop, balance inventory, restock snacks, and provide car maintenance services like tire inflation and oil changes. But each day ends with a warning: lock the doors, turn off the lights, and hope nothing from the woods remembers you.
Key Features Include:
- Modernize & Expand: Upgrade your gas station with new services and better equipment.
- Stock & Serve: Run your convenience store, keep shelves filled, and deal with strange—but loyal—customers.
- Design Your Space: Customize signs, shop layouts, and decorations to make your station feel like home.
- Survive the Night: What’s watching from the treeline? Don’t find out.
- Uncover the Mystery: Piece together the fate of the last owner and the truth behind the gas station’s haunted legacy.
Cozy Dread in a Forgotten World
While it might look warm and nostalgic on the surface, The Last Gas Station hides a chilling undercurrent. It’s a place where the past is heavy, the woods feel alive, and staying in business might cost more than just money. Think Gas Station Simulator meets Oxenfree—but cuter, and maybe a little more cursed.
The Last Gas Station is coming soon to Steam. You can wishlist it now and follow Alawar on Twitter and Discord to stay in the loop as development progresses.
