Bethesda Game Studios reeled in a fresh new trailer at Xbox Games Showcase 2025 for Fallout 76: Gone Fission, the game’s latest update that swaps bullets for bobbers with the long-awaited fishing system. The update launched June 3 across all platforms and is free to all players.
Cast a Line, Catch a Legend
Gone Fission introduces a laid-back new feature to Fallout 76: fishing. Players can explore lakes, rivers, and new hot spots like Fisherman’s Rest in the Mire to try their hand at reeling in a range of aquatic rewards.
Different combinations of bait types, rods, weather conditions, and locations will affect what you catch—whether it’s everyday fish, rare rotating Axolotls, or ultra-rare Local Legends that bring serious bragging rights.
Meet Linda-Lee and Earn Legendary Loot
Fishing isn’t just a way to unwind—it’s also a source of powerful rewards. After collecting your catch, trade in Fish Bits with Linda-Lee, a giant hermit crab who’s taken up residence at Fisherman’s Rest. In return, she’ll hook you up with a Legendary item that might just tip the scales in your next Wasteland skirmish.
Whether you’re relaxing solo or showing off your rarest fish to your crew, Gone Fission adds a chill new rhythm to the radioactive routine.
“Gone Fission brings a cozier side of Appalachia to life with new locations, rotating fish types, and community-driven events to keep players coming back month after month.”
