Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced Hits PS5 on August 12 with New Modes, 60fps Performance, and Free Upgrades

Ninja Theory has announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced will officially launch on PlayStation 5 on August 12, bringing the intense, haunting action-adventure to Sony’s platform with a suite of upgrades. Pre-orders are available now, with two editions offering different ways to experience Senua’s emotional and psychological odyssey.

The Standard Edition of Hellblade II Enhanced will be available for $49.99, while the Deluxe Edition — priced at $69.99 — adds the original Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (remastered for PS5) and its complete soundtrack, making it ideal for first-time players. Those who already own the PS4 version of Senua’s Sacrifice can upgrade to the PS5 version for free.

What’s New in Hellblade II Enhanced?

Originally released in May 2024 for Xbox and PC, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II captivated fans with its immersive atmosphere and raw psychological storytelling. The Enhanced update, launching alongside the PS5 version, includes significant new features across all platforms, with a free update rolling out for existing players on Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Xbox PC.

Key Features in the Enhanced Edition:

  • Performance Mode (60fps): Play the game at double the original framerate for a smoother experience.
  • Dark Rot Mode: Inspired by the permadeath-style challenge from the first game, this optional mode raises the stakes. Fail too many times, and Senua’s journey ends — permanently.
  • Enhanced Photo & Video Mode: Capture striking imagery with new tools, including a “Motion” tab for cinematic video capture.
  • Developer Commentary: Unlock over four hours of behind-the-scenes commentary from Ninja Theory’s team, diving into design, sound, performance, and the game’s development process.

Hellblade II continues Ninja Theory’s signature style of blending intense mental health narratives with cutting-edge audio and visual design. Now, PlayStation players will get to experience this harrowing sequel in its most technically advanced form.
