Konami has officially announced that Silent Hill f, the next chapter in the long-running psychological horror series, will launch on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows. Revealed during the June PlayStation State of Play, the game’s latest trailer offered a haunting new look at the horrors awaiting players in a reimagined, fog-drenched Japan.
Set in 1960s rural Japan, Silent Hill f introduces a chilling new storyline starring Shimizu Hinako, a high school student trapped in a decaying town plagued by supernatural infestation and inner demons. As the eerie village of Ebisugaoka succumbs to a creeping biological menace, Hinako must navigate both external threats and personal trauma, blurring the lines between body horror and emotional dread.
A New Chapter of Fear
Silent Hill f is the first mainline game in the franchise since Silent Hill: Downpour (2012), and marks a bold new setting and story direction. The game is written by acclaimed Japanese visual novelist Ryūkishi07 (Higurashi, Umineko), with a strong focus on emotional horror, personal loss, and social expectations.
The gameplay shown in the trailer hints at third-person exploration, tense combat encounters, and horrific flower-like mutations overtaking both humans and the landscape. Coupled with a haunting aesthetic and a grounded protagonist, Silent Hill f aims to explore fear through vulnerability and transformation.
