In a celebration that unites gaming icons across generations, Atari and Bandai Namco Entertainment America have officially announced the Atari x Pac-Man Collection—a retro-infused collaboration loaded with limited-edition consoles, new game cartridges, and a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive.
Launching just in time for Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary, the collection features a custom yellow Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition console, vibrant new controllers inspired by the Ghost Gang, and a fresh 2-in-1 Pac-Man: Double Feature cartridge that reimagines Pac-Man for the Atari 7800.
The Collection: Nostalgia With a Power Pellet Punch
Available now for pre-order at $169.99, the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition console stands out with its bold yellow casing and glowing character icons. Bundled with it is the Pac-Man: Double Feature cartridge (featuring both Pac-Man 7800 and the original Pac-Man 2600) and a themed CX40+ Wireless Joystick.
For superfans and collectors, Atari is also offering:
- The High Score Collection: A premium box set featuring Galaga, Dig Dug, Xevious, and Pac-Man: Double Feature, each in colorful collector cartridges with extras for $139.99.
- Individual standard editions of each cartridge for $34.99.
- Ghost-Themed CX40+ Wireless Joysticks sold separately in red (Blinky), blue (Inky), pink (Pinky), and orange (Clyde) for $39.99 each.
San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive: Go Gold or Go Home
Only 1,000 lucky fans attending SDCC 2025 will be able to grab the Pac-Man: Double Feature Golden Box Edition, priced at $99.99. Each box comes with a surprise cartridge color, a limited patch and pin, and a high-gloss collector’s box.
New DLC: The Namco Legendary Pack Comes to Atari 50
Atari and Bandai Namco are also expanding the excellent Atari 50 interactive timeline collection with a new DLC pack: The Namco Legendary Pack. Launching later this year for $7.99, this add-on will explore the deep-rooted partnership between the companies and include:
- Pac-Man for Atari 2600
- Classic titles like Galaga, Dig Dug, Galaxian, Xevious, and more from the 2600, 5200, and 7800
- Archival content, dev interviews, photos, and interactive timeline features
“The Atari x Pac-Man Collection is a celebration for fans of classic games, unique hardware, and the timeless appeal of the Pac-Man franchise,” said Matt Burnett, VP of Strategic Operations at Atari. “This collaboration honors our legacy together.”
“Together, we’ve built a legacy filled with groundbreaking milestones,” added Karim Farghaly, SVP at Bandai Namco. “The Atari x Pac-Man Collection perfectly honors the timeless spirit of PAC-MAN.”
