Invincible VS just added a little more boom to its punch. Skybound and Quarter Up revealed today that Rex Splode—everyone’s favorite unstable teen with attitude and explosives—is joining the playable roster for the upcoming 3v3 tag fighter Invincible VS. The game, based on the hit Invincible comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, is slated to launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
From Teen Team to Tag Fighter
Once a loudmouth staple of the Invincible comics and animated series, Rex Splode enters the fray in Invincible VS with his signature flair—explosions, acrobatics, and chaotic energy. Known for getting under people’s skin just as easily as he blows things up, Rex brings a trap-heavy playstyle built for zoning, mixups, and pressure resets.
His explosive projectiles can be delayed to set traps or detonated instantly to extend combos and force mistakes, giving players a flexible toolkit to either keep opponents guessing or bait out unsafe moves. Whether you’re locking down space or diving in with an overhead assault, Rex plays like a live wire waiting to pop.
More Than Just a Pretty Explosion
Developed in-house by Quarter Up, Invincible VS is Skybound’s first major game in the Invincible universe. Built from the ground up as a tournament-ready 3v3 tag fighter, it features bone-breaking, comic-accurate gameplay across iconic locations like Reginald Vel Johnson High School, the Global Defense Agency, and beyond. Every punch lands hard, every super move is brutal, and every fighter looks straight out of the comic’s pages.
Rex Splode joins a roster that already includes Mark Grayson (Invincible), Atom Eve, Bulletproof, and Thula, with more fan-favorite characters still to come.
