RedDeer.Games and HumaNature Studios have announced that Kimono Cats, a charming, festival-themed adventure full of warmth and whimsy, will release on August 14 for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). For those eager to soak in the summer festival spirit early, a free demo is now available on Steam.
Celebrate Summer With Balloon-Popping, Mini-Games, and Village Building
Set during a bustling Japanese Matsuri festival, Kimono Cats blends lighthearted mini-games with social features, romantic bonding, and town customization. You’ll accompany an adorable cat couple through a festive world where each balloon you pop offers coins, surprises, or even weather shifts.
There’s plenty more to do than balloon darts—festivalgoers can try:
- Goldfish scooping
- Shuriken throwing
- Music challenges
- Running Ramen races
- And more across 18 total mini-games
Using the coins earned, players can design their own village with over a hundred decor items—houses, shops, lanterns, trees, and everything in between. You’ll even be able to visit other players’ villages, exchange small gifts, and leave friendly notes.
Romance, Customization, and Pure Cat Cuteness
Beyond games and construction, Kimono Cats offers a gentle romantic system. As you spend time with your feline companion, you’ll build affection through small acts of kindness like sharing treats, hugging, or dancing.
The game also emphasizes inclusivity, with customizable character options including genderfluid identities, and relationship options open to all players regardless of their choices.
With 18 levels, 18 mini-games, 112 bubble types, and a whole lot of love to go around, Kimono Cats promises a peaceful, heartwarming experience.
