The legendary Tiger King is back. Sagat joins the Street Fighter 6 roster on August 5, 2025, as the first Year 3 fighter, and he’s bringing his full arsenal of Muay Thai mastery and fireball-fueled fury. Whether you’re a returning Street Fighter II veteran or just getting into the fight, Sagat’s explosive moveset will command respect across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Capcom is also giving fans an early chance to play Sagat ahead of his release at EVO 2025 in Las Vegas from August 1–3, with a hands-on demo available at the Capcom booth.
Tiger Style, Refined
Sagat’s classic moves return in Street Fighter 6, including his High and Low Tiger Shots, Tiger Uppercut, and the ever-threatening Tiger Knee Crush. But this isn’t just the old Sagat—he’s also packing Tiger Nexus, a brand-new special that chains into one of three follow-ups: Mighty Tiger, Greedy Tiger, or Nova Tiger.
Sagat’s Super Arts bring cinematic brutality:
- Tiger Cannon (Level 1) – An upgraded, destructive Tiger Shot
- Savage Tiger (Level 2) – A combo series with four possible enders
- Tiger Vanquisher (Level 3) – A devastating finisher with kicks, a massive uppercut, and zero mercy
His imposing frame gives him fantastic reach and corner control, with tools that force opponents to fight on Sagat’s terms—whether that’s zoning from afar or punishing with raw power up close.
New Stage: Proud Spire
Sagat’s arrival also introduces Proud Spire, a tranquil new stage featuring serene temple scenery and a massive Buddha statue. It’s a calm contrast to the storm of elbows and knees Sagat will deliver there.
Two Iconic Looks
- Outfit 1: A darker, more tactical Muay Thai look for the new era
- Outfit 2: A throwback to Street Fighter II, complete with traditional wraps and shorts. Earnable in World Tour by bonding with Sagat or available via Fighter Coins.
More Year 3 and Summer Content
The update launching with Sagat is more than just Tiger business:
- Swimsuit Outfit 4s drop for Cammy, Luke, Chun-Li, Manon, Jamie, Kimberly, and A.K.I.
- The ongoing aespa collab continues until August 4, featuring Juri’s aespa-inspired Outfit 4 and nævis as a Real-Time Commentator in the Battle Hub.
- Future Year 3 fighters have been confirmed:
- C. Viper (Autumn 2025)
- Alex (Early Spring 2026)
- Ingrid (Late Spring 2026)

Get Ready for the King
Sagat’s return marks a powerful start to Year 3 in Street Fighter 6, and his mix of fireballs, frame control, and brutality will shake up the competitive scene. Whether you’re zoning from midrange or going all-in with Tiger Knees, it’s time to master the art of domination.
