Step Into a Magical Past in the Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker Demo

Gentle Troll, the studio behind 2024’s surprise cozy hit Tavern Talk, has officially launched the first public demo for their next game, Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker. Available now on Steam, this standalone narrative adventure is set 36 years before the original game and invites players back to the world of Asteria—this time, in the shoes of a seaside tavernkeeper with the power to bend fate through enchanted brews.

Return to Asteria — 36 Years Before Tavern Talk

You’ll take on the role of the Dreamwalker, a barkeep at the Drowsy Dragon in a sleepy port town. Using a magical drink menu and the rumors whispered across your bar, you’ll shape the destinies of sailors, mercenaries, and adventurers one conversation at a time.

The Dreamwalker demo includes roughly 30 minutes of the game’s opening sequence, offering a glimpse at four of its characters and the unique drinks you can craft to influence their paths. Like the original Tavern Talk, the experience blends cozy visual novel storytelling with light puzzle mechanics as you experiment with ingredients and dialogue choices.

Gentle Troll says demo saves will not carry over into the final game, but the team encourages fans to dive in and start brewing. Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker does not require knowledge of the original game, making it a perfect entry point for new players.
