Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Confirms Final Lineup at Gamescom 2025

Digital Eclipse, Atari, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have officially pulled back the curtain on the full lineup for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, announced during the Xbox Showcase at gamescom 2025. Launching later this year, the collection will finally make rare titles like Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat Special Forces playable again after decades in limbo. They’ll join an expansive library of arcade, console, and handheld releases spanning the 1990s and early 2000s, giving fans a chance to relive the franchise’s formative years.

A Legendary Surprise: WaveNet UMK3

The showcase ended with a reveal that stunned longtime fans: the long-lost WaveNet edition of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, originally created in 1997 to support Midway’s arcade matchmaking network, will be fully playable for the first time. This special build was the only arcade release to feature Noob Saibot as a selectable character, and its preservation marks a major win for video game history.

New Features and Enhancements

To make these classics more accessible, Legacy Kollection adds modern quality-of-life features such as a Rewind function for more forgiving gameplay, on-screen move lists, and a Trainer mode to help players practice their kombos. A dedicated Fatality Trainer has also been included, letting every fighter master the iconic finishers that defined the series.
