Pragmata Gameplay Demo and New Artwork Revealed at Gamescom 2025

Capcom has finally pulled back the curtain on Pragmata, its mysterious sci-fi adventure, giving fans their first opportunity to go hands-on with the game at Gamescom 2025. Alongside the playable demo, Capcom unveiled new character and enemy artwork, fresh details on the game’s combat systems, and a closer look at the Hacking mechanics that set Pragmata apart.

Facing the Walkers and the SectorGuard

As Hugh and Diana attempt to escape the lunar research station, they’ll encounter an array of threats created by the Delphi Corporation. Among them are:

  • Walkers – Humanoid bots based on the M4 series, once widely used in human support roles. In lunar conditions, the improved M4AM models thrive thanks to their adaptability and ability to use tools.
  • SectorGuard – A massive S-35 military bot designed to defend high-priority installations. With guided weaponry and low-gravity ballistics built into its spherical arm modules, the SectorGuard will test players’ skills in both maneuverability and strategy.

During encounters like the SectorGuard battle, players will need to coordinate Hugh’s thruster-based dodges with Diana’s hacking skills to survive.

The Art of Hacking

Combat in Pragmata is defined by its unique Hacking Matrix system, where Diana manipulates enemy bots mid-battle. New details revealed at Gamescom include:

  • Overdrive Protocol – A powerful ability that lets Diana Hack multiple enemies at once, tearing open their armor and freezing them temporarily. Timing its use is crucial, as it can turn the tide of a fight but leaves players vulnerable if wasted.
  • Hack Nodes – Environmental pickups that enhance Diana’s abilities during combat. For example, the Decode Node lowers enemy defenses for a limited time, rewarding strategic positioning and resource management.

These layered systems encourage players to mix direct action with tactical hacking decisions in every encounter.

For fans at home, Capcom has also launched a browser-based Hacking Minigame on the official site, giving players a taste of Diana’s digital toolkit before the game’s release.
