If you’ve ever wanted a puzzle game where your imagination is the most powerful spell in your grimoire, Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times might be your next obsession. Announced by Yogscast Games and developed by Slug Glove Studios, Rhell is a semi-open world adventure full of discovery, experimentation, and magical chaos—coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2026.
A demo is available now on Steam as part of the Tiny Teams Festival, running from August 7–14, 2025.
Cast Your Own Way with 102 Million Spell Possibilities
In Rhell, players explore 14 hand-crafted regions while solving environmental puzzles using a wildly customizable spell-casting system. By combining up to five of 40 rune-like “keywords,” players can create spells with unique outcomes—leading to over 102 million permutations. There’s no single solution to any challenge; how you solve a problem is entirely up to you.
Expect to use magic to move obstacles, trigger events, or reach new areas—and if one spell doesn’t work, mix and match until something clicks.
Mystery, Magic, and a Beetle Named Beesle
The game follows Rhell, a fiery young mage on a personal journey through a strange and toon-like world disrupted by mysterious disappearances. She’s not alone, though—her helpful beetle companion Beesle offers tips and encouragement. The game’s narrative evolves based on who you meet and which puzzles you solve, with multiple outcomes influenced by your choices.
Spellbinding Style Meets Emotional Growth
Simon Byron, Yogscast Games’ Managing Director, describes Rhell as “a fun puzzle adventure that encourages players to experiment, inspires creativity, and offers a fresh take on the puzzle genre.” With its emotional narrative, freeform progression, and spell-mixing mechanics, the game promises to be a unique entry in the world of creative puzzle games.
