skate. Early Access Launches September 16 With Cross-Play and San Vansterdam Open World

Electronic Arts and Full Circle have announced that skate., the highly anticipated revival of the iconic skateboarding series, will enter Early Access on September 16, 2025. Launching across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA app), the game will be free to download with full cross-play and cross-progression support.

Set in the sprawling city of San Vansterdam, skate. offers an ever-evolving open-world multiplayer skateboarding sandbox. From plazas and parks to rooftops and repurposed churches, players will discover a diverse playground built for creativity, tricks, and community.

Reviving the Flick-It System

At the core of the new skate. experience is the return of the beloved Flick-It System, now powered by the Frostbite Engine for unmatched precision and control. Fans can expect the same satisfying analog-stick tricks that defined the franchise, expanded with fresh moves like wallies, slappies, and firecrackers.

To help both veterans and newcomers, the game includes the Skatepedia, a resource hub for mastering tricks, styles, and techniques.

A City Built for Skaters

San Vansterdam features four unique neighborhoods: Hedgemont, Gullcrest, Market Mile, and Brickswich—each packed with skate spots and challenges. New off-board controls let players climb, roam, and reach vertical playgrounds, while the Quick Drop feature allows ramps, rails, and objects to be placed anywhere to create custom skate spots.

Beyond free exploration, rotating challenges like Line Challenges, Own the Spot, and Sessions keep the action fresh. High-energy Throwdowns bring players together, while Spectate mode with Spectaport lets you jump directly into any live session happening in the city.

skate. is not just a return, it’s an evolution,” said Mike McCartney, Executive Producer. “We’ve worked closely with our players from day one to build something that honors the legacy of the series while pushing it into a bold new future.”

Head of Creative Jeff Seamster added: “Community is the heart of skateboarding, and it’s the heart of skate.. This is an open, welcoming space where everyone can skate, create, and connect—no barriers, no gatekeepers.”
