Square Enix Unveils Final Fantasy Panels and Community Night for PAX West 2025

Final Fantasy fans are in for a stacked PAX West 2025 as Square Enix brings not one, but three major panels to the convention, spotlighting Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles and Final Fantasy XIV Online. On top of the panel schedule, the publisher is also hosting an exclusive Square Enix Community Night where fans can meet legendary developers, grab exclusive merch, and celebrate all things Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.

All three panels will also be streamed via PAX’s official Twitch channel for fans unable to attend in person.

  • Storytime with Naoki Yoshida
    Friday, August 29 | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Main Theatre
    Final Fantasy XIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida reflects on his career, shares insights on the industry, and may even answer fan questions live.
  • The Making of Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles
    Saturday, August 30 | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Blue Dragon Theatre
    Game Director Kazutoyo Maehiro and Art Director Hiroshi Minagawa will break down how they revitalized the genre-defining tactics RPG for modern platforms. Hosted by Ben Starr, the panel includes behind-the-scenes stories and a special attendee-exclusive Ivalice Chronicles pin (limited quantity).
  • The Relationship Between Game Design and Art Direction
    Sunday, August 30 | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM | Main Theatre
    Yoshida and Minagawa team up to discuss how design and art direction work together to build immersive game worlds, touching on their experiences with Final Fantasy XIV, XVI, and Tactics.

This ticketed celebration will feature photo ops, giveaways, and special guests, including Yoshida, Maehiro, and Minagawa. Fans can celebrate Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, and upcoming releases like Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles (Sept. 30), Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake (Oct. 30), and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Switch 2 and Xbox (Winter 2025).
