With a great sigh of relief, this multiplayer-focused first-person shooter title has finally revealed that there will, in fact, be a single-player campaign. Battlefield 6 revealed their campaign trailer at today’s PlayStation State of Play. Trailer after the jump.
Oh yes, you heard it here. Battlefield 6 is set to release next month, and it will feature a campaign. Try as I might, I can never get through these campaigns; I find them so unbelievably boring. However, revealed today at the PlayStation State of Play is a campaign for the highly anticipated title. I mean, if you want 100 million players, you gotta cast a wide net!
The single-player campaign takes place across multiple pulse-pounding missions, as players step into the boots of Dagger 13, a squad of elite US Marine raiders taking the fight to Pax Armata. With adrenaline-charged set pieces taking place around the world from Brooklyn to Cairo, this is the classic blockbuster single-player campaign, with jaw-dropping moments and explosive action, on an unparalleled scale.
One thing I always find striking about Battlefield is its use of vehicles. The trailer uses vehicles and attacks them to great effect. The setup is pretty ridiculous, but I imagine folks interested in the single-player of these war games are in for a treat.
The year is 2027, and the world is on the edge of chaos. The once unshakeable NATO alliance is crumbling, its foundations cracked by distrust and uncertainty. Financial instability, proxy wars, and political disputes have left some countries adrift in a sea of geopolitical turmoil. Amidst this chaos, a formidable force emerges – Pax Armata – A massive private military corporation unafraid to cross lines, with deep pockets and the latest tech seizes the opportunity to step into the power vacuum.
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10th, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, EA App, and Epic Games Store. I’m really looking forward to playing the game, as the early access playtests that have happened have been very fun.
