Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Launches on Switch 2 and Xbox in January 2026

Square Enix has officially announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC via Xbox Play Anywhere on January 22, 2026. This expanded edition of the award-winning remake will not only reach new platforms, but it will also add a brand-new feature designed to make the adventure more accessible than ever.

A Fresh Feature for New Players

One of the biggest additions to the Switch 2 and Xbox release is the new “Streamlined Progression” option. With this feature, players can enable unlimited HP and MP, constant Limit and ATB gauges, 9,999 damage per attack, and faster weapon ability acquisition. It’s a way for new players or returning fans who just want to relive the story to dive into Cloud’s journey without the grind.

Pre-Order Bonuses: Classic FFVII and Magic: The Gathering Crossover

Square Enix is giving fans plenty of incentive to pre-order.

  • Digital Pre-Orders: Players who pre-order digitally on Switch 2 or Xbox platforms will receive the original Final Fantasy VII as a bonus. Xbox players can jump into the classic right away, while Switch 2 players will unlock it when Remake Intergrade launches. This offer is available until January 31, 2026.
  • Physical Pre-Orders: A limited number of physical copies for Nintendo Switch 2 will include a Magic: The Gathering—Final Fantasy Play Booster, featuring 15 randomly assorted cards.

The Story So Far

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade reimagines the early hours of the legendary RPG, following Cloud Strife and the Avalanche resistance as they fight against the Shinra Electric Power Company in the city of Midgar. This edition also bundles in FF7R Episode INTERmission, a side story starring Wutai ninja Yuffie Kisaragi.

With cutting-edge visuals, hybrid real-time and strategic combat, and expanded storytelling, Intergrade has been praised as both a faithful tribute and a bold reimagining of one of the most beloved RPGs of all time.

Square Enix also confirmed that this release is part of its broader multi-platform strategy. Future entries in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy will continue to launch across PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.

The third and final entry in the trilogy is currently in production, promising to bring Cloud’s saga to a dramatic conclusion.
