Killer Inn Closed Beta Test 2 Announced with Revamps, New Features

Square Enix, alongside developer Tactic Studio and TBS Games, has announced the second Closed Beta Test (CBT2) for its upcoming murder mystery action game Killer Inn. The beta will run from October 3–13, 2025, with players able to experience a wide range of gameplay updates, new features, and quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback from July’s first test.

Revamped Game Design

The developers have made several key adjustments to address player feedback:

  • Safe Zones – Entering a staff area now grants 30 seconds of invulnerability, ensuring players can safely pick up quests and interact with staff without interference.
  • Retaliation Kills – Defending yourself against an attacker will no longer trigger a Bad Guess Penalty, adding fairness to combat.
  • Wolf-on-Wolf Penalties – Wolves who attack fellow Wolves will now face consequences, keeping the rules consistent.
  • Guardians – Now tougher, with doubled base HP and no regeneration, allowing more accessible battles even with un-upgraded weapons.
  • Theft Rules – Weapons and armor can no longer be stolen through pickpocketing, except by Thieves with the Quick Hands passive.

  • Character Skins – Preview cosmetic customization, with one skin per character available.
  • Banners (Nameplates) – Personalize your profile with 30 designs appearing in player lists and death panels.
