Final Fantasy Classics Get First Physical Release in Americas This December

Square Enix has announced that several beloved Final Fantasy titles will receive their first-ever physical releases in the Americas this December. Pre-orders are now open for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 editions, giving fans the chance to own these iconic RPGs in tangible form.

For Nintendo Switch, the lineup includes the Final Fantasy VII (Original) + Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack and Final Fantasy IX, both releasing December 9, 2025, at a price of $39.99 each. Switch players can pre-order these editions directly from the Square Enix Store.

On PS5, the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade & Rebirth Twin Pack Physical Edition launches slightly earlier on December 4, 2025, priced at $59.99. This edition combines the cinematic Intergrade experience, including FF7R Episode Intermission featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, with the standalone Rebirth adventure, where Cloud and friends leave Midgar to confront Sephiroth across a vast world.

Classic Final Fantasy Stories Reimagined

  • Final Fantasy VII (Original) follows mercenary Cloud Strife as he joins Avalanche to stop the sinister Shinra corporation and protect the planet.
  • Final Fantasy VIII Remastered centers on Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartilly, members of the elite SeeD organization, tasked with stopping Galbadia from conquering the world, now with enhanced visuals and gameplay boosts.
  • Final Fantasy IX tells the tale of Zidane Tribal and Princess Garnet as they uncover the secrets of the Crystal and face a malevolent force threatening their world.

Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade & Rebirth delivers a cinematic reimagining of the original classic with expanded storylines, upgraded graphics, and immersive gameplay that continues the journey of Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII as they chase Sephiroth beyond Midgar.
