Devolver Digital and Japan-based developer Skeleton Crew, the studio behind Olija, have officially announced that their martial arts roguelite Forestrike will launch on November 17 for PC and Nintendo Switch. A brand-new gameplay trailer and an updated Steam demo were released to mark the occasion, offering fans a closer look at the game’s cinematic action and cerebral combat system.
A Roguelite That Rewards Precision and Patience
In Forestrike, players step into the robes of Yu, a monastic warrior on a quest to free the Emperor from the grip of a ruthless Admiral. Though the odds are insurmountable, Yu possesses a mystical ability known as Foresight, a technique that allows players to preview and replay encounters endlessly until the perfect sequence of moves is achieved.
Each fight in Forestrike functions like a living puzzle: every enemy reacts predictably to your decisions, making mastery and timing the keys to victory. Once you finalize your approach, your fate is sealed. Success pushes you forward, but failure sends you back to try again.
A Journey Through Martial Arts and Myth
Every run through Forestrike reveals new fragments of its enigmatic world and lore. Along the way, players will encounter the five great masters, each representing a unique martial arts school that can be learned, blended, and mastered to forge a personal fighting philosophy.
Between battles, Yu can rest at inns, upgrade gear, and rescue travelers to earn rare rewards that deepen the experience. The result is a dynamic fusion of tactical combat and narrative discovery that invites players to explore a land torn apart by ambition and war.
Expanded Demo and Trailer Now Available
To accompany the release date announcement, Forestrike’s Steam Next Fest demo has been updated to include a third martial arts school and new areas for players to explore. The newly released gameplay trailer highlights the game’s distinctive combat flow, painterly art style, and meditative tone, all hallmarks of Skeleton Crew’s craftsmanship.
Forestrike launches November 17, 2025, for PC and Nintendo Switch. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam or learn more via Devolver Digital’s official site.
