Swedish studio Modoyo has announced the first global playtest for Heart Electric, an adrenaline-fueled hero shooter powered by Unreal Engine 5 and the developer’s proprietary SnapNet technology. Running from October 24 to 26, the playtest gives players their first hands-on experience with the game’s inventive “Magnetic Flux” system. This ability lets combatants manipulate metal, soar through arenas, and outplay opponents in midair.
Four teams of three face off in fast-paced, energy-driven battles that demand quick reflexes, tactical coordination, and mastery of magnetic movement. Whether you’re zipping across the battlefield or pulling objects into a devastating ambush, Heart Electric’s Flux mechanic turns mobility into a weapon of its own.
Redefining Magnetic Combat
The Magnetic Flux is the cornerstone of Heart Electric’s design, allowing players to fly, fling, and fight with physics-driven precision. Following community feedback from previous playtests, Modoyo has expanded the system’s flexibility, enabling Flux activation while airborne for even wilder, combo-heavy encounters.
Creative Director Niklas “Figge” Fegraeus describes the project as “a true indie passion project designed by players and shaped by our community,” noting that the new magnetic mechanics “offer levels of gameplay that will surprise even hardcore FPS fans.”
What’s in the Global Playtest
From Friday, October 24, through Sunday, October 26, players can jump in and experience:
- Full Magnetic Flux mechanics across three distinct arenas
- Multiple playable heroes with unique perks and abilities
- Customizable loadouts and weapon builds
- Energy-based team battles with four teams of three
- Global leaderboards to track performance and rank
The action culminates in high-stakes finales where the arena shrinks, and surviving teams face off in an energy overload showdown.
