Madbricks, in partnership with Amber and Redrum, has officially released the first public demo for Mexican Ninja, a 2.5D roguelike beat ’em up overflowing with swagger, grit, and chaotic energy. Available now on Steam, the demo gives players a taste of Nuevo Tokyo, a stylized cyberpunk city where the corrupt Narkuzas (a fusion of Narcos and Yakuza) rule with an iron fist.
A Roguelike Beat ’Em Up With Bite
Mexican Ninja is built for fast, arcade-style combat where timing, spacing, and smart builds reward mastery over button-mashing. Each run is randomized, with duels that are loud, trash-talking, and gloriously brutal. Players can tap into unique “Spirit Animal” paths, unleash devastating Mexican Jutsus, and customize their moves through the swagger-soaked Way of the Donkey skill tree.
Creative Director Dario Hoyo explains the team’s vision:
“Mexican Ninja was born from our love of old-school beat ’em ups, layered with the replayable bite of roguelikes. It’s Mexico meeting Japan: lucha bravado, bilingual slang, and irreverence colliding with feudal drama and Yakuza steel.”
What’s in the Demo
The demo drops players at the spark of rebellion against the Narkuzas, delivering punchy encounters, loudmouthed characters, and just enough story to set the stage for the uprising. Expect randomized runs, stylish fights, and plenty of blood-soaked flair.
Key Features:
- 3D Beat ’Em Up, 2D Retro Soul – Classic arcade combat with modern visuals.
- Rogue-Lite Chaos – Randomized runs with endless replayability.
- Spirit Animal Skill Trees – Choose paths like Blazing Talons or Morning Squawk.
- Way of the Donkey – A skill tree that transforms fundamentals into absurd power.
- Mexican Jutsus – Signature abilities that look as wild as they sound.
