Project TAL Revealed – Open-World Action RPG Inspired by Korean Mythology Coming 2027

Publisher Wemade Max and developer Madngine have officially announced Project TAL, a AAA open-world action RPG inspired by traditional Korean mythology and folklore. Revealed during the Galaxies Autumn Showcase, the game is currently in development for PC and consoles, with a global release planned for 2027.

The debut announcement trailer introduces players to a breathtaking world that blends ancient mysticism with high-octane action. Project TAL reimagines Korea’s iconic Tal masks, traditional cultural artifacts used in ritual dances and storytelling, into a central motif that drives both the game’s narrative and its striking visual design.

Cinematic Combat and Dynamic Companions

The trailer showcases fast-paced, cinematic combat, where players can leap onto towering beasts, target enemy weak points, and unleash tactical counterattacks through fluid skill combos. Every encounter feels like a cinematic battle, blending acrobatic movement and precision strikes in a visually rich, highly reactive environment.

One of the most distinctive features shown off in the reveal is Project TAL’s companion system. Each NPC ally boasts a unique combat style and personality, from frontline warriors to ranged mages and healers. Companions dynamically respond to the player’s decisions in battle, performing synchronized actions like catching a teammate mid-air or deploying a protective barrier at a critical moment.

Project TAL combines an emotionally resonant story about healing a wounded world with the exhilarating combat of a classic action RPG,” said Sohn Myun-seok, CEO of Wemade Max. “With MADNGINE’s technical expertise and artistic vision, we’re creating a AAA open-world title built to compete on a global stage.
