Greenheart Games is finally opening the doors to its long-awaited fantasy business sim, Tavern Keeper, which will launch on Steam Early Access on November 3rd, 2025. After more than 11 years in development, the studio behind Game Dev Tycoon is ready to serve up a mix of humor, management, and creativity in a cozy fantasy world.
To celebrate the announcement, Greenheart Games released a new story trailer highlighting the game’s whimsical tone and interactive storytelling. Fans eager to sample the experience can also check out an updated demo on Steam ahead of October’s Steam Next Fest, offering an untimed introduction to tavern management and a taste of its creative Item Workshop and Freeplay mode.
A Cozy Blend of Chaos and Creativity
Tavern Keeper combines business management simulation, sandbox-style decoration, and light RPG storytelling into one charming experience. Players run their own fantasy tavern filled with eccentric characters, mischievous magic, and plenty of opportunities for hilarious disasters.
Whether you want to micromanage staff, balance budgets, or simply decorate your dream pub, Tavern Keeper offers the freedom to play at your own pace. “After 11 years, we’re ready to open the doors to our follow-up to Game Dev Tycoon,” said Patrick Klug, Director and Co-Founder of Greenheart Games. “It’s been a long journey, and we’re thrilled that players can soon experience what we’ve been crafting for them over so many years.”
Coming Soon to Steam Early Access
Greenheart Games plans to continue expanding Tavern Keeper throughout Early Access, incorporating community feedback to fine-tune its management systems and story-driven events. The Early Access release arrives on November 3rd, with full release plans to be announced later.
