Blue Backpack, along with co-publishers ByteRockers’ Games and Parco Games, has officially launched The Berlin Apartment, a first-person, story-driven adventure now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Priced at $24.99 with a 10% launch discount, the game takes players on a sweeping narrative journey across a century of Berlin’s turbulent and colorful history through the perspective of a single apartment.
One Apartment, a Century of Stories
The Berlin Apartment unfolds as a series of episodic tales, each set in the same four walls but spanning vastly different eras, genres, and emotional tones. The apartment becomes a vessel for exploring the shifting lives, hopes, and traumas of the people who once called it home.
Players step into the shoes of Dilara, who accompanies her father, Malik, a handyman working to renovate the aging space. As they repair the apartment, they uncover relics, silent witnesses to the past that spark Malik’s stories of former residents. Each object pulls players deeper into new timelines and new perspectives.
A Living History of Berlin
Every episode presents its own self-contained narrative starring different characters and offering its own atmosphere, from intimate personal dramas to tense historical moments. The game’s comic-book visual style lets players explore richly detailed environments as they piece together a century’s worth of memories, mysteries, joys, and heartbreaks.
These vignettes collectively chart Berlin’s layered past, creating a tapestry of interconnected stories anchored by the apartment itself.
A Unique Narrative Experience
Game Director Hans Böhme expressed excitement for the game’s launch, noting that The Berlin Apartment has been warmly received at events and showcases. Now, players worldwide can step inside and uncover the full breadth of stories hidden behind its walls.
