Resident Evil Requiem Trailer Shows an Iconic Hero’s Return

A new Resident Evil Requiem trailer debuted at the Game Awards tonight, giving players a look at the return of one of the franchise’s most iconic protagonists.

The video confirmed what was being heavily speculated online over the last week — that Leon S. Kennedy is appearing as a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem. The story will feature both Leon and Grace Ashcroft as dual protagonists, harkening back to games like Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Leon’s sections will reportedly feature more action-oriented gameplay, while Grace’s will focus more on the survival-horror side of the series.

Additionally, viewers got a closer look at the title’s villain, the haunting Victor Gideon. A voice in the trailer notes that Gideon has some form of connection to the Umbrella Corporation, meaning the evil pharmaceutical company is still haunting the heroes of Resident Evil all these years later.

Where does Resident Evil Requiem take place?

Resident Evil Requiem takes the series back to the iconic Raccoon City, home of the biological disaster that shook the world, combining deeply terrifying aspects of psychological horror with pulse-pounding action that franchise fans know and love,” reads the Capcom game’s press release.
