Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Coming to PS5 and Xbox in February 2026 With All Updates Included

Marvelous has announced that Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is expanding its horizon beyond Switch and PC, officially launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 13, 2026. These new versions will arrive bundled with all previously released free post-launch updates, meaning PS5 and Xbox players are stepping into the most complete edition of the game from day one.

A standard physical PS5 edition will be offered exclusively through Amazon, while both platforms will receive Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Super Digital Deluxe editions, each adding themed outfits, festive bundles, and even a digital soundtrack and art book depending on the tier.

A New Land Reborn Through Dance, Combat, and Community

Set after the Celestial Collapse, Guardians of Azuma transports players to the eastern nation of Azuma, an all-new region steeped in Japanese cultural motifs, seasonal villages, and mythical forces. Here, nature’s gods have retreated, villages lie in ruin, and life has slowly withered.

Players embody an Earth Dancer, a mystical hero who channels sacred dances and divine artifacts to restore life to the land. After forming a pact with a dragon, you’re tasked with cleansing corruption, rebuilding entire villages, reviving gods, and piecing together the truth behind the blight consuming Azuma.

With two protagonists to choose from and a story shaped around tradition, renewal, and community, Guardians of Azuma offers a fresh take on Rune Factory’s hybrid action RPG and life-sim foundation.

Classic Rune Factory Meets Expanded World-Building

Unlike previous entries, players won’t just maintain a farm; they’ll help rebuild entire communities. Constructing buildings, recruiting villagers, and restoring the gods grants access to new resources and abilities that further rejuvenate the land.

Combat also receives a major overhaul thanks to the Earth Dancer’s unique kit, adding new weapons like Bows and Talismans, plus sacred techniques that blend farming, exploration, and battle. Romance returns as well, allowing players to befriend and potentially partner with humans and gods alike, each fully voiced and available to join your party.

Since its initial June 2025 launch on Switch, Switch 2, and PC, the game has surpassed 500,000 units sold, making it one of the strongest debuts for the series in recent years.

Complete Edition Comes to Consoles

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S releases include:

  • All free post-launch updates released so far
  • “Rune Factory 4 Hero Outfit Bundle” for all digital editions
  • Optional DLC available at launch, including the Story of Seasons and Sakuna collaboration packs
  • Upgraded performance on current-gen hardware

From farming to monster-purifying dance to fully rebuilding communities, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma aims to be the series’ most ambitious reinvention yet, just in time for its next-gen debut.
