IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have announced a major PC-focused partnership for 007 First Light, confirming a collaboration with NVIDIA GeForce to deliver enhanced performance and visual fidelity at launch on May 27, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a new developer diary and the release of the game’s official PC hardware specifications.
Built on an evolved version of IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier engine, 007 First Light aims to deliver a cinematic, modern take on James Bond while maintaining the studio’s reputation for technical precision and smooth performance.
DLSS 4 and RTX Technologies Power the PC Experience
As part of the collaboration, 007 First Light will support DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA’s latest upscaling and performance technology. The feature is designed to significantly boost frame rates while preserving image quality, helping the game maintain its cinematic presentation even during intense action sequences.
According to IO Interactive CTO Ulas Karademir, the partnership with NVIDIA was crucial to ensuring the PC version met the expectations of the Bond franchise. The team emphasized that performance, responsiveness, and visual fidelity all needed to feel effortless for players, especially given the game’s dynamic set pieces and story-driven focus.
Glacier Engine Enhancements Detailed
To support these ambitions, IO Interactive has made substantial upgrades to the Glacier engine specifically for 007 First Light. These enhancements focus on more expressive character animations, richer environmental detail, and smoother transitions between stealth, exploration, and high-octane action.
The studio notes that environments are designed to feel more “alive,” reinforcing the cinematic tone of the experience while still allowing for player agency, something longtime fans of IO Interactive’s work will recognize immediately.
