Mana Core Game Studios has officially revealed Utopia: Birth of the Heroes, a medieval fantasy visual novel headed to PC via Steam in 2026. Developed by Monterrey-based brothers Dante and Daniel Arjona, the narrative-driven title marks the studio’s debut and places moral choice, political ideals, and personal sacrifice at its center.
Alongside the announcement, Mana Core confirmed that players can jump in immediately through a Steam Playtest, offering access to Chapters 0 through 2 and an early look at the world and characters shaping the game’s conflict.
A World Defined by Ideals and Consequences
Set in a war-torn medieval fantasy realm steeped in arcane magic, Utopia: Birth of the Heroes follows three protagonists, each guided by a different vision of what a perfect society should be. As their paths unfold, players are asked to weigh ambition against compassion, power against morality, and idealism against the harsh realities of a fractured world.
Rather than presenting a single “right” path, the game explores how good intentions can fracture kingdoms just as easily as they can save them. Decisions ripple outward, affecting political alliances, personal relationships, and the future of entire nations.
Moral Choices at the Heart of the Narrative
According to co-founder Dante Arjona, the team’s goal was to create a world players could genuinely believe in even when they disagree with the characters within it. Every choice in Utopia is designed to feel personal, reflecting not just the protagonist’s values but the player’s own beliefs about justice, sacrifice, and leadership.
The visual novel structure allows the story to unfold through multiple perspectives, encouraging players to consider the cost of their ideals and explore how different paths shape the same world in radically different ways.
Playtest Available Now on Steam
Players interested in supporting the project can wishlist Utopia: Birth of the Heroes on Steam and participate in the active Playtest, which includes the game’s opening chapters. This early build introduces the setting, core characters, and the morally charged decision-making that defines the experience, while also giving players a chance to help shape the final release through feedback.
The game also features an emotionally driven musical score composed by Peter Reid Jones, with additional composers to be revealed closer to launch.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Utopia: Birth of the Heroes is currently scheduled to launch on PC via Steam in 2026.
