Two legendary zombie apocalypses collide today as Saber Interactive launches the World War Z x The Walking Dead campaign DLC, now available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Developed in collaboration with Paramount Pictures and AMC, the new expansion brings players into the grim, character-driven world of The Walking Dead for a terrifying new chapter in Saber’s best-selling co-op shooter.
A New Story Campaign Set in AMC’s Iconic Universe
The DLC introduces a brand-new campaign featuring three story chapters inspired by some of The Walking Dead’s most recognizable locations. Players will battle through the Prison, push toward the Alexandria Safe Zone, and fight for survival at Grady Memorial Hospital, all while facing relentless undead threats reimagined through World War Z’s signature swarm-based combat.
Play as Legendary Survivors
Players can step into the roles of Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, and Negan, with Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus reprising their iconic performances. Each character brings their own personality and combat style to the battlefield, alongside signature gear that longtime fans will instantly recognize.
New melee weapons include Michonne’s Katana and Negan’s infamous bat, Lucille, while weapon skins inspired by Rick’s revolver and Daryl’s crossbow further tie the experience to The Walking Dead universe.
Walkers Reimagine World War Z’s Zeke Swarms
The undead threat has evolved for this crossover. World War Z’s fast-moving Zeke swarms have been transformed into deadly Walkers inspired by The Walking Dead’s slower, more deliberate, but still lethal style of horror. The DLC also introduces a new special enemy type, the Spiked Walker, a heavily armored variant that must be knocked prone before it can be finished off with melee attacks.

The World War Z x The Walking Dead DLC is available today for $9.99 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Powered by Saber’s next-generation Swarm Engine, the game supports solo play with AI teammates or co-op for up to four players, complete with full crossplay between PC and consoles.
