Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse Launches February 19 on Switch, PC, and Mobile

Square Enix has announced Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse, the second entry in its cult-hit mystery adventure series, during today’s Nintendo Direct. The game launches February 19, 2026, arriving digitally on Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and iOS and Android, with pre-orders opening later today.

Developed by the same team behind 2023’s Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, the new installment expands the series’ eerie storytelling with a fresh setting, new characters, and a chilling new curse rooted in Japanese folklore.

A New Curse Set in Showa-Era Japan

Set in Showa-era Japan, Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse once again blends real-world locations with authentic urban legends and occult themes. While the game introduces an entirely new cast and mystery, it maintains the series’ signature approach to immersive storytelling, encouraging players to unravel layered narratives shaped by myth, fear, and human desire.

At the center of the story is a new supernatural phenomenon known as the Mermaid’s Curse, drawing players into another unsettling mystery where truth and legend blur together.

Standalone Experience with a Series Connection

Although The Mermaid’s Curse is a standalone title and can be enjoyed without prior knowledge of the series, Square Enix is offering an incentive for newcomers. Until February 18, the original game, Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, is available at a 75% discount on Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, making it an ideal time to catch up before the new entry arrives.
