Square Enix has officially revealed Patch 7.5: Trail to the Heavens for Final Fantasy XIV Online, with the major update scheduled to launch on April 28. The announcement was made during the 91st Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast, where Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida shared new details on the upcoming content arriving in the 7.5x patch series.

The update will bring a wide range of additions to the massively popular MMORPG, including new story content, a dungeon, raids, gameplay systems, and the long-awaited introduction of a new limited job.

New Story Content, Raids, and Dungeon

Patch 7.5 continues the game’s ongoing narrative with new Main Scenario Quests while also concluding the current alliance raid storyline. The final chapter of the crossover raid series, Echoes of Vana’diel Part 3 – Windurst: The Third Walk, will arrive in this update, continuing the homage to Final Fantasy XI<.

Players will also gain access to a new dungeon called The Clyteum and a new trial encounter against Enuo, which will be available in both Normal and Extreme difficulties. Another high-end challenge arrives with a new Ultimate difficulty raid, designed for the most experienced players seeking the toughest battles in the game.

Additionally, Shinryu’s Domain (Unreal) will allow players to face the powerful dragon Shinryu at level 100 as part of the Unreal Trial lineup.

First Look at the Beastmaster Limited Job

One of the most notable announcements during the broadcast was the reveal of Beastmaster as the next limited job coming to Final Fantasy XIV. Like previous limited jobs, Beastmaster will offer a unique gameplay style centered around taming and commanding creatures rather than following traditional combat job mechanics.

Further details about Beastmaster are expected to be shared closer to its release within the Patch 7.5x series.

Other gameplay additions include new Allied Society Capstone Quests, further Hildibrand Adventures, and additional Duty Support for the dungeons, The Dusk Vigil and Shisui of the Violet Tides.

Housing improvements are coming as well, including increased limits for furnishings and additional interior design options. Players can also expect a greatly expanded Armoire storage system, updates to the dye system, and new Gold Saucer activities.

The update also launches PvP Series 11, which includes balance adjustments to PvP abilities and introduces a new Crystalline Conflict arena called Archeia Harmonia.

Additional updates include new Custom Deliveries, Phantom Weapon upgrades, and a variety of quality-of-life improvements throughout the game.

Outside of the game itself, Square Enix also announced that the official Final Fantasy XIV band The Primals, led by sound director Masayoshi Soken, will perform at the Download Festival at Donington Park in the United Kingdom on June 12, 2026.
