Warner Bros. Games has announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will now launch one week earlier on May 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The updated release date gives players an earlier chance to dive into the open-world action-adventure, which reimagines Batman’s journey through Gotham City with the signature humor and style of LEGO games.
Pre-Orders and Early Access Details
Pre-orders are now live for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game. Players who opt for the Deluxe Edition will receive 72-hour early access, now beginning on May 19, ahead of the full launch.
All pre-orders will also include The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit, inspired by the iconic comic series, which will be available at launch.
In addition, players who create or link a Warner Bros. Games account will unlock the Golden Age Batsuit, based on Batman’s original appearance in Detective Comics #27 from 1939.
Open-World Gotham and DC-Inspired Storytelling
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an all-new open-world experience that follows Bruce Wayne’s evolution into Gotham’s protector, drawing inspiration from decades of Batman films, television series, comics, and video games.
The game blends DC lore with the lighthearted, comedic tone that developer TT Games is known for, offering a mix of exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving across Gotham City.
DLC and LEGO Set Bonuses
Warner Bros. has also outlined plans for post-launch content, with downloadable content (DLC) scheduled for September 2026. Additional details on what’s included in the Deluxe Edition and future DLC can be found on the game’s official website.
Beyond the game itself, several new LEGO DC Batman sets tie directly into in-game content. Purchasing select sets unlocks exclusive digital bonuses, including a gold Batsuit and playable Batmobile variants.
The LEGO DC Batman: Batman Logo set includes an exclusive gold Batsuit, while sets such as the LEGO DC Batman: The Batman Batmobile set, LEGO DC Batman: Batman v Superman Batmobile set, and LEGO DC Batman: Batman & Robin Batmobile set unlock playable vehicles and their gold variants in-game.
Nintendo Switch 2 Version Coming Later
While the game launches in May on current platforms, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for release later in 2026.
