Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, a new virtual reality entry in the beloved horror series. Developed by Iconik, the game is set to launch on April 24, 2026, bringing players into the eerie world of Little Nightmares through a fully immersive VR experience.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5 via PlayStation VR2, PC through SteamVR, and the Meta Horizon Store, as well as standalone on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3.
Step Into the World as Dark Six
For the first time in the franchise, players will experience the unsettling universe of Little Nightmares from a first-person perspective in virtual reality. The story places players in the role of Dark Six, a mysterious figure connected to the series’ central protagonist.
As Dark Six, players embark on a haunting journey to uncover hidden truths and reunite with the missing part of herself. The story expands the lore of the Little Nightmares universe while exploring the emotional and psychological themes that have defined the series.
A Fully Immersive Horror Experience
Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes aims to deliver the most immersive version of the franchise yet. Players will explore new locations filled with the series’ signature eerie atmosphere, strange inhabitants, and unsettling environments.
Each chapter presents distinct threats and encounters, blending puzzle-solving and stealth gameplay with VR-specific mechanics designed to heighten tension and immersion. The first-person perspective places players directly inside the world’s disturbing environments, forcing them to confront both real and imagined childhood fears.
While the game is designed to stand on its own as a VR experience, it also expands the broader story surrounding Six and the mysterious Transmission, offering longtime fans new clues about the franchise’s deeper narrative.
