Annulus is out now on Steam, the App Store, and Google Play, bringing its art-driven take on the tactical RPG genre to PC and mobile.
The new strategy RPG combines a dark fantasy setting with a reworked battlefield system, aiming to deliver a more distinct approach to positioning, movement, and encounter design. As a free-to-play release, Annulus is launching across platforms with a focus on both accessibility and deeper tactical play.
A new approach to tactical combat
At the center of Annulus is its battlefield structure, which reshapes how players approach positioning and control in fights. Rather than leaning on fixed patterns, the game is built around adapting to changing threats, reading enemy actions, and making decisions based on spatial advantage.
The game also features a roster of heroes with different abilities, roles, and synergies, giving players room to experiment with team composition and approach encounters in different ways.
Dark fantasy setting and boss-driven encounters
Annulus is set in a stylized dark fantasy world, with a visual direction built around detailed character designs, cinematic skill effects, and atmospheric environments. The game’s presentation focuses on clarity in battle while maintaining a heavier tone across its world and characters.
Boss fights are also a major part of the game’s structure. According to the announcement, these encounters feature distinct mechanics and visual identities, and bosses can alter terrain, disrupt formations, and force different tactical decisions during battle.
Launch follows strong early interest
Ahead of release, Annulus passed 1.5 million pre-registrations worldwide and received featuring opportunities from both Google Play and the App Store.
Annulus is available now as a free-to-play title on Steam, iOS, and Android.
