Furyu has announced Crymelight, the next entry in its dark bishoujo action Cry series. Revealed during Indie Live Expo 2026, the action roguelike will launch on November 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam for $19.99.
Digital preorders are now open on PlayStation 5, while the game can be wishlisted on Steam and PlayStation 5. To mark the announcement, the original Crystar is also on sale for $1.99 through May 5 at 3:00 a.m. PT as part of the Furyu Publisher Sale.
Alice Descends Into Purgatory
Following Crystar and Crymachina, Crymelight follows a young girl known as Alice, who wakes with no memories and learns she must travel to the lowest layer of Purgatory to earn her Rebirth.
Her journey begins in the Tea Party Hall, a sanctuary where she meets other characters and prepares for each descent. From there, Alice enters Wonderland, a prison for the souls of the dead filled with enemies born from madness. As she fights deeper into Purgatory, she must confess and confront her sins while recovering pieces of herself.
Action Roguelike Combat with Skill Cards
Crymelight shifts the series into an action roguelike format. During combat, defeating enemies expands the Wonder Dimension, a blue-violet space that boosts Alice’s movement and abilities. The system adapts to acquired skills, letting players shape how they fight as the battlefield expands.
Between stages, players collect Skill Cards through a poker-style build system. Stronger card combinations create stronger effects, changing attack power, movement, and combat flow. If Alice dies, she returns to the Tea Party Hall to plan her next attempt.
Two Modes for Story and Combat
Players can switch between two presentation styles. World-Immersion Mode minimizes UI, brings the camera closer, and focuses more on atmosphere. Action Mode pulls the camera back to a top-down perspective, keeps combat information visible, and places greater emphasis on readability during fights.
Furyu’s Cry Series Continues
Crymelight brings back several contributors from the Cry series, including plot and story supervisor Naoki Hisaya and composer Sakuzyo. The team also includes animator Riri Yamashita and character designer Yogisya.
Crymelight launches November 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
