NIS America has announced Disgaea Mayhem, a new action RPG spinoff of the long-running Disgaea series. The game launches July 23, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Rather than using the series’ traditional tactical RPG format, Disgaea Mayhem gives players direct control of the action as N.A., a mercenary taking on monsters for money and a princess’s love of flan.
Disgaea Goes Full Action RPG
Disgaea Mayhem lets players fight through waves of enemies using seven different weapon types, including swords, bows, guns, fists, and axes. Each weapon changes how combat plays, giving players room to swap styles depending on the situation.
Even with the new action setup, the game keeps the series’ love of big numbers and grinding. Players can level up, improve equipment, enter the Item World, reincarnate for higher stats, and pass bills through the Dark Chocolate Assembly to push damage higher.
Classic Demons and a Dessert-Fueled Story
The story follows N.A. and Princess Tichelle, whose craving for flan sets the game’s events in motion. NIS America describes it as a lighter tale built around monsters, money, and dessert.
Players can also recruit classic demons, including Prinnies, to bring into battle.
Limited Edition Pre-Orders Are Live
NIS America also announced a Limited Edition priced at $99.99. It includes the base game, collector’s box, The Art of Mayhem art book, Hellscape original soundtrack, N.A. and Tichelle acrylic stand, and The Flan Fanatic acrylic keychain.
