Dragon Quest Smash/Grow Launches April 20 for Smartphones

Dragon Quest Smash/Grow will launch on April 20, 2026, at 8 PM PT, Square Enix announced.

The new roguelite RPG for smartphones is the latest entry in the Dragon Quest series. Ahead of launch, Square Enix has also released a new opening trailer created by Kamikaze Douga.

The new trailer offers a look at the game’s world and features familiar Dragon Quest monsters, including slimes, drackies, and killing machines.

It also introduces the protagonist’s mechanical companion Roly, who is voiced by Toshio Furukawa.

Pre-registration rewards confirmed

Players can pre-register now through the App Store and Google Play.

Square Enix says players who pre-register will receive 10 Premium Transmuter Vouchers, enough for 10 Premium Transmuter pulls, when the game launches.

Roguelite combat and character growth

In Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, players fight through large groups of monsters and use the series’ Coup de Grâce attacks during battle.

The game also includes random Blessings that affect character growth and battle strategy, with Square Enix describing each quest as a different experience.
