Eden’s Frontier Opens Steam Playtest Sign-Ups

Frontiers Group Entertainment has opened Steam Playtest sign-ups for Eden’s Frontier, a real-time action RPG that draws inspiration from 90s and 2000s games while building a new fantasy and sci-fi world. A new trailer is also available, showing the Bleumitas’ Cave area and gameplay from the current Playtest build.

The game blends HD anime-inspired pixel art with 3D environments and follows three protagonists, beginning with Blu, as they travel toward a mysterious new land.

Explore, Fight, and Rebuild Spiral City

Eden’s Frontier features real-time combat, exploration, ally recruitment, and city rebuilding. Players will recruit residents and allies to help restore Spiral City, while also collecting playable cards that can be upgraded and equipped to support combat.

The game also includes a day-and-night cycle that changes the world. Certain events, encounters, areas, and challenges appear depending on the in-game time.

A Multimedia Story with a Free Comic

The game’s story connects to a free, full-color online comic set in the same universe. The comic introduces Hiro, along with Seth, Maria, and Blu, while expanding on the game’s civilizations and locations.

The comic is available in English, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese, with 43 pages currently live on the project’s official website.

Inspired by Classic PlayStation and SEGA Games

Creator and director Jean Felipe said Eden’s Frontier began from the idea of imagining the kind of game he would have wanted to play as a child. He also cited the influence of PlayStation 1 and SEGA-era games, with players at Brazilian events comparing the project to titles like Final Fantasy, Sonic, Ragnarök Online, and Klonoa.

Eden’s Frontier is available to follow on Steam, with Playtest sign-ups open now.
