Friday Sundae has released a new trailer for There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, the studio’s musical, Lovecraftian renovation game. The trailer shows more of the game’s restoration systems, supernatural investigations, and time-limited structure.
The game follows Chris David, an American who inherits the Grand Hotel, a crumbling seaside hotel in the English village of Kingswood-on-Sea.
Renovate by Day, Investigate by Night
During the day, players restore the Grand Hotel and the surrounding village using tools like a sandblaster, paint sprayer, and furniture cannon. The new trailer also shows that players can explore beyond the hotel, finding shops and buildings across a small open world that can be repaired and decorated.
Some restorations will reveal ghost stories, hidden memories, and secrets tied to the buildings themselves.
At night, the tone shifts. Players use talking power tools to search for clues, investigate eerie areas like the village church, and piece together the mystery behind Kingswood-on-Sea. Renovation tools also become part of the ghost-hunting toolkit after dark.
A 30-Day Mystery with Musical Storytelling
The trailer confirms that players have 30 in-game days and nights to restore the hotel, explore the village, build relationships, and investigate the strange events surrounding the Grand.
It also features “Skeletons in the Closet,” an original song performed by Marcia Richards of The Skints, who voices Lily in the game. The full game includes more than ten original songs, with each key character tied to their own musical story.
