Abigail Debuts New Narrative Trailer at gamescom LATAM

Hapshapen Games has debuted a new narrative trailer for Abigail at The Latin American Games Showcase – Gamescom LATAM Edition 2026. The trailer offers a closer look at the handcrafted adventure game’s story, visual style, and central folk game.

Abigail follows a young woman returning home to Kiln Bay, a place that has changed while she was gone. The game explores memory, identity, and the strange feeling of coming back to familiar streets that no longer feel the same.

A Handcrafted Story About Coming Home

Abigail is built from materials including felt, clay, collage, papier-mâché, glass, and other handmade pieces. Hapshapen Games combines those materials with photogrammetry, stop motion, and digital game design to create a tactile town shaped by memory.

Across four neighborhoods, players will meet more than 30 NPCs and collect over 100 Azulejo tiles, each tied to the people, places, and stories of Kiln Bay.

Azulejo Shapes the City

At the center of Abigail is Azulejo, a local folk game played with collectible tiles. Its rules vary by neighborhood, manifesting in conversations, rituals, party games, and competitive play.

The story also follows the rise of Power Azulejo, a corporate version of the game that begins spreading through Kiln Bay. As Abigail reconnects with the town, she must face what has been preserved, what has been lost, and what the city may become.
