Dear Villagers and True Colors have released a major update for the CALX Steam demo ahead of the game’s June 4 launch on PC. The update lets players fully complete the game’s first zone, face three new enemy types, and get a broader look at the atmospheric 3D action-adventure.
A new trailer is also available, showing more of CALX’s environmental puzzles, reactive combat, and platforming.
Explore the Alien Planet of Syro
CALX takes place on Syro, a colorful alien planet marked by crystal formations, ancient ruins, and a spreading corruption known as the WARP. Players take on the role of the Seeker, traveling across the planet to uncover what happened to its lost civilization.
True Colors describes the game as a solitary journey centered on isolation, exploration, and discovery, drawing inspiration from Metroid and Hyper Light Drifter.
Combat Blends Melee, Ranged Attacks, and Movement
CALX’s combat uses four AFX weapons, letting players move between melee and ranged attacks while using movement options to dodge, freeze enemies briefly, or close distance for heavier damage.
The full game will include platforming, environmental puzzles, and combat encounters spread across Syro’s ruined landscapes.
Launching June 4 on PC
CALX launches June 4 on PC via Steam, with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch versions planned for later in 2026.
