Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen director Kento Kinoshita appeared during Capcom Spotlight to share new details on the upcoming expansion, including its new northern region, dungeon structure, and relic-based progression.
The expansion takes players to Norgan, a long-abandoned frozen region tied to a new story involving the heartless Fallen Dragon and its pursuer, Eir.
The Relic Expedition Cycle
Kinoshita outlined the Relic Expedition Cycle, a new gameplay loop built around exploring Norgan, finding relics, appraising them, and gaining access to powerful weapons and skills.
Those rewards feed back into exploration, giving Arisen stronger tools to push further into the region and take on greater threats.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will also add 12 challenge dungeons, giving players new spaces to test builds, party setups, and combat mastery.
New Customization and Base Game Updates
The expansion adds new hair and tattoo options for players to customize their Arisen and main Pawn.
Capcom also confirmed more updates for the base game. Following the June Title Update, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive another update in late August that improves performance across all platforms, adds more save slots, adjusts the Dragonsplague condition, and increases weapon skill slots from four to six.
