XSEED Games and Little Chicken Game Company have released a new demo for Moonlight Peaks, giving players an early look at the supernatural life sim ahead of its July 7, 2026, launch.
The demo is available now on Windows PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch, with the Switch version also playable on Nintendo Switch 2. A new trailer for the game debuted during Wholesome Direct 2026, showing more of the town, its residents, and the game’s cozy gothic tone.
Life After Death Gets Cozy
Moonlight Peaks puts players in the role of a vampire trying to prove to their skeptical father that even the undead can live with compassion.
After moving into a haunted family cottage, players can build relationships with witches, werewolves, mermaids, and other supernatural residents. The town also features two dozen romanceable characters for players seeking eternal love.
What’s in the Demo
The new demo includes character creation, magical mini-games, new resident interactions, and a closer look at the relaxing afterlife awaiting players in the full game.
Players can also get a feel for Moonlight Peaks’ mix of farming, socializing, magic, and mystery-solving.
Build a Gothic Farmstead
In the full game, players can customize their haunted cottage and turn an abandoned farm into a gothic homestead.
Farming includes enchanted crops, magical livestock, potion brewing, and spellcasting. Players can also unlock ancient vampire abilities and shapeshift into different forms to explore the town.
Mysteries, Romance, and Mini-Games
Beyond farming, Moonlight Peaks includes fishing, foraging, embroidery, flower arranging, potion-crafting, and Nokturna, a collectible card game played by the town’s residents.
Players will also investigate the secrets of the seven families who live in Moonlight Peaks while slowly bringing life back to the spooky settlement.
Pre-Purchase Discount
Digital pre-purchases are now live on Nintendo platforms in the Americas. The standard Nintendo Switch version is discounted from $34.99, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is discounted from $39.99 through launch.
Players who buy the Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 version at launch through a $5 Upgrade Pack.
Moonlight Peaks launches July 7, 2026, for Windows PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Google Play Games.
